Qualifications:
- Demonstrated courtroom litigation experience with a proven track record of success.
- Ability to attend in-person appearances at mediations, meetings, and court proceedings within the Albany, NY to Plattsburgh, NY area. Daily work location is flexible outside of these responsibilities.
- Proficient in research, writing, and speaking, with a thorough and precise approach.
- Strong technical skills combined with patience, compassion, and dedication to client satisfaction.
- Confident, adaptable, and growth-oriented, with a comfort level in a managerial role.
- Willingness to pursue advanced training, including Certified Divorce Specialist™ training, 30 hours of basic Mediation training, and 15 hours of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce training.
- Licensed in New York with a clean professional discipline record.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw, Ooma, Google Workspace Suite, and Dropbox.
- Familiarity with Clio Grow, Clio Manage, and Family Law Software is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.
- Prepare for and participate in trials, mediations, and arbitration hearings.
- Provide guidance and support to associate attorneys and paralegals to address and prevent conflicts.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests/responses.
- Lead the firm’s legal strategy and operations, ensuring high-quality legal representation and efficient management of the legal team.
- Oversee the firm’s legal production pipeline, from strategy sessions to client delivery, ensuring all work is completed accurately and on time.
