Position: Estimating Engineer

Location: Alsip, IL

Job Description:

As an Estimating Engineer, you will be an essential part of the pre-production process, responsible for analyzing project details, generating accurate cost estimates, and working closely with engineering and production teams. Your expertise will help ensure that bids are competitive while maintaining both profitability and quality standards.

Shift:

Day Shift (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Mon - Fri)

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience preferred in process, product, manufacturing, or quoting engineering.
• 3 years of experience preferred with products produced through CNC machining.
• 3 years of experience working with CAD software.
• Strong skills in metrology devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and vision systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, including GD&T features like true position and surface profiles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements to develop accurate machining cost estimates.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to generate comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to assess technical requirements and project feasibility.
• Prepare detailed proposals and presentations for clients, showcasing key value propositions.
• Monitor and update pricing databases to maintain accuracy and competitiveness.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving measures and process improvements.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure accurate pricing and lead times.
• Perform other duties as needed.
