Psychiatry - Addiction Physician

Our department has implemented state-of-the-art treatment for opioid use disorder and continues to evolve evidence-based treatment for multiple substance use disorders. We incorporate peer recovery specialists and a range of technology and innovative techniques in collaboration with addiction researchers at Virginia Tech and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. Our faculty includes psychiatrists who are board-certified in both addiction psychiatry and the new specialty of addiction medicine. We have an established Fellowship in Addiction Medicine that is part of this organizational structure. Psychiatrists are eligible for academic appointments through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Research interest is supported.
The Addiction Psychiatrist helps coordinate efforts across multiple Departments (as part of Carilion Clinic s Addiction Taskforce) that exist in the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology).

Qualifications:
Desired candidates are trained in Addiction Medicine (and General Psychiatry), Addiction Psychiatry, or are Board eligible/ certified in General Psychiatry with an interest in focusing on patients with addictions.
