Required Experience: At least 4 years of civil litigation experience in Insurance Defense. Other desired experience is Premises Liability, Construction Defect, Public Entity Defense, Employment Law, and Transportation.
We are an exciting, Texas-based Law firm that needs to hire due to growth. We are seeking a Litigation Associate to work out of our Austin office in the Insurance Defense/General Liability Practice. We are seeking candidates with over 4 years of experience in litigating these fields on the defense side.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil litigation and a strong background in insurance defense, with a focus on construction defect cases, premises liability, employment law, transportation, and public entity defense. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent advocacy skills and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in civil litigation cases in state and federal courts.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Advise clients on legal rights and obligations regarding construction defects, premises liability, and employment law.
- Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes as necessary.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and ensure comprehensive representation.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting clients interests.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, specifically in civil litigation and insurance defense.
- Proven experience in handling cases related to construction defect, premises liability, and employment law.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
