Franklin Biolabs is led by gene therapy industry pioneer Jim Wilson and his team of experts, who previously conducted their work in academia. Wilson is also the President and CEO of GEMMABio, a therapeutics company. The collective goal of the two affiliated companies is to translate innovative scientific work into clinical trials, to then commercialize and distribute the new therapies around the world to patients who need them most.


Summary

As an Associate Metrologist, you will be responsible for performing and/or escorting external vendors performing the maintenance and calibration of equipment and instrumentation assets. The assets to be maintained include but not limited to, general and advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation used to manufacture and characterize biopharmaceuticals. Duties include, but are not limited, completing, and documenting all maintenance and calibration activities, executing maintenance and calibration procedures, interacting with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and ensuring adherence to all safety and compliance regulations while completing tasks. You must have an introductory level knowledge and abilities of computer software including Microsoft Office and Outlook.


This position will require you to work on-site during all scheduled working hours and may require some off-shift and weekend hours as needed to support operations. Position will be on call for emergency responses.


Qualifications

  • An associate degree in technical or related scientific field and 1-2 years of relevant industrial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
  • Holds themselves and others accountable for the success of the department and company. (Required)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced highly accountable environment. (Required)
  • Communicates well with inter-departmental colleagues (Required)
  • Preferred – Ability to forecast issues and problem solve with oversight from senior employees.
  • Preferred – Previous experience in FDA regulated environments.
  • Preferred – Experience in maintaining assets via CMMS.
