As the Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in establishing a standardized data platform with clean, reliable, and accessible data feeds. This platform will support the functional areas of cross-channel media strategy and planning, buying, marketing operations, campaign reporting, and measurement. By providing trustworthy data, technology, and tools, you will empower the business to become more data-aware and make informed, data-driven decisions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across marketing, advertising, finance, engineering, legal, and product management. Key job responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and oversee the reporting pipelines to onboard agency managed media metrics into reporting and measurement tool, using appropriate technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)
  2. Complete new data onboarding for current and future roadmap of RAFT (Reporting and Fast Twitch Insights) and TaCS (Taxonomy and Campaign Spend) for reporting and measurement with agencies outside of US to enable data-driven decision-making
  3. Onboard new Lines of Businesses to RAFT and TaCS by designing the data model, developing the reporting pipelines and creating the dashboard
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders (marketing, advertising, finance, engineering, science, legal, and product management) to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations
  5. Work closely with owners of data source systems to gain insights into their capabilities and limitations
  6. Deliver minimally to moderately complex data analysis to support business needs
  7. Adopt best practices in reporting, including ensuring data integrity, designing thorough testing, validating outputs, and maintaining comprehensive documentation

A day in the life
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They will collaborate with executives and business units across Amazon, bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with large-scale data tools, identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 10+ years of professional or military experience
  2. 5+ years of SQL experience
  3. Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  4. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  5. Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
  6. Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  7. Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
  8. 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  2. Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
  3. Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
  4. Adjacency and understanding on media and marketing landscape
  5. Experience in code review and version control tools, such as git

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
