Position Overview:


Morrison Seger is seeking a CPG Fund Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to evaluating, analyzing, and supporting investments within the Consumer Packaged Goods sector. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of CPG market dynamics, and a passion for identifying brands with exciting growth potential.


Key Responsibilities:


Investment Research & Analysis:

  • Perform detailed financial and operational analysis of potential CPG investments.
  • Assess market positioning, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities for target companies.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate investment returns, risks, and exit strategies.

Market & Industry Insights:

  • Conduct thorough research on CPG trends, consumer behavior, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Analyze macroeconomic factors and industry-specific challenges affecting the CPG sector.
  • Monitor performance and growth trends of existing portfolio companies.

Due Diligence:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform due diligence on potential investments, including financial audits, site visits, and stakeholder interviews.
  • Evaluate the scalability, product quality, and branding of prospective CPG companies.

Portfolio Support:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to support portfolio companies in achieving strategic objectives.
  • Track and report on the performance of investments, including key financial and operational metrics.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports to fund managers, advisory boards, and investors.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to aid in strategic decision-making.


Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment research, or a similar role, ideally in venture capital or the CPG sector.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of the CPG landscape, including market dynamics, consumer trends, and major players.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and challenges.
  • Passion for discovering and supporting innovative, exciting brands.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
