Controller MD

Our client, a reputable mid-size, privately-held company in Joppatowne, MD, is seeking a Controller to join their team. This position will start off working onsite in the office 5 days/week and then can become HYBRID It is a wonderful company to work for, laid back, relaxed, and provides a great work life balance

As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and leading a dedicated team. The ideal Controller will bring a wealth of knowledge in managing financial statements, budget preparation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Controller Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting department and supervise staff, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in coordination with all departments.
• Develop financial models to assist in the forecasting of revenues, costs, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with senior management on financial strategies and budgeting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and oversee audit processes.

Controller Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven management and supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Excel. SAP experience a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
