Instrumentation and Calibration Technician
Location: Lubbock, Texas (Municipal Utility Site)
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract (Contract-to-Hire after 1 Year of Satisfactory Performance)
Position Overview
We are seeking 2 Instrumentation and Calibration Technicians to perform on-site maintenance and calibration of municipal utility instrumentation. This is a full-time, long-term contract role with the potential for permanent hire following one year of satisfactory performance.
The ideal candidates will bring expertise in diagnosing, maintaining, and calibrating standard water treatment and wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) instrumentation, including outfall effluent flow systems and other key equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and reliability of a critical utility service in the Lubbock area.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration:
- Perform diagnostics and corrective actions on water treatment equipment, such as reverse osmosis systems, water softeners, and other conditioning systems.
- Calibrate, inspect, clean, and maintain system components for optimal performance.
System Monitoring & Diagnostics:
- Determine the condition of system fluids and identify malfunctions for timely resolution.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess pressure, level, temperature, flow meters, and flumes.
Preventative Maintenance:
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance, ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
- Proactively identify additional service needs and propose customized solutions for enhanced system performance.
Lab Testing & Sampling:
- Perform assigned lab testing and sampling duties to support system health and regulatory compliance.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Proven experience in maintaining and calibrating WWTF instrumentation and water treatment systems.
- Familiarity with outfall effluent flows and standard instrumentation used in municipal utilities.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in calibration and diagnostics of instrumentation for pressure, level, temperature, and flow measurement.
- Understanding of flumes and their role in wastewater systems.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a field environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in wastewater treatment facility operations.
