Crew Foreman Job Summary
274 Construction Group is currently seeking a motivated “Crew Foreman” with high character to lead one of our Water/Sewer and or Grading Crews. The person for this job will have a high standard of safety and concern for his/her crew and subcontractors. They will need to be knowledgeable of civil construction processes but hungry to learn more. This person will need an aptitude for leadership and be passionate about developing those skills while leading their crew. Lastly, they need grit Civil construction is not for the faint of heart and the ideal crew foreman will have perseverance and a “no quit” attitude.
Primary responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce corporate policies.
- Build and Encourage a productive crew with a healthy culture.
- Lead and direct the installation of Water and Sewer mains, services, and tie-ins
- Lead and direct the installation of storm sewer systems.
- Lead and direct the installation of Sanitary Sewer Pump Stations
- Lead and direct earthmoving and grading operations for commercial site work
Qualifications and Skills:
- General knowledge of math, including calculating the percent slope of gravity fed pipe.
- Great work ethic
- Reliable and trustworthy with valid NC Driver’s license.
- At least 4-years’ experience laying waterline, sanitary sewer, and storm drain.
- At least 4 years’ experience in grading and earthmoving
- General knowledge of trench shoring methods
- Understanding how to dewater utility trenches is a must
