Job Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance (40%): Clean residential units and common areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and comfort.
- Room Preparation (20%): Maintain and restock vacant rooms, inspect for cleanliness and safety, and manage supplies.
- Painting and Groundskeeping (10%): Assist with painting, landscape trimming, and trash removal to keep the property in top shape.
- Basic Repairs (10%): Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on appliances and fixtures, ensuring everything functions smoothly.
- Safety Inspections (10%): Conduct periodic safety system inspections and report issues to the Facility Manager.
- Community Support (10%): Collaborate with staff to maintain a supportive environment, participate in the Safety Committee, and assist with emergency food boxes.
Job Details:
- Payrate: $22.25/hr.
- DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY – including comprehensive benefits package which contains Medical, dental, disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with agency contribution, holiday pay, generous paid leave, and more.
- Schedule: 7:00am-4:00pm (Monday thru Friday)
- This position works within a crisis shelter environment.
Candidate Requirements:
- 3-years of housekeeping and basic maintenance experience, preferably within an institutional setting.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with an emphasis on empathy and patience.
- Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds, with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages.
- Commitment to working in an environment sensitive to the needs of the women, children and youth residing in the emergency shelter and transitional housing program.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
