As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing validation tests for both hardware and software products. Your role involves creating and implementing innovative techniques to detect defects, while providing detailed documentation as a key contributor to the product development team. Additionally, you will assist in deploying testing and programming automation within the manufacturing process to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs. This position will involve close collaboration with a team of skilled engineers and cross-functional work with Manufacturing and Quality teams to support new product development as well as provide ongoing engineering support for existing products.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute structured test protocols with effective control and variable separation to ensure conclusive results.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and detailed procedures based on product requirements and specifications.
  • Perform functional, usability, compatibility, performance, and regression tests on products alongside the engineering development process.
  • Conduct testing of mobile applications across various iOS and Android devices and operating systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to gather characterization data, identify edge cases and vulnerabilities, and ensure product designs meet requirements.
  • Develop automated testing capabilities and streamline test processes.
  • Create detailed test specifications and procedures, and assist in designing specialized test fixtures for production.
  • Maintain documentation and reports for test procedures and results.
  • Continuously learn and implement new technologies and tools to improve test processes.
  • Adhere to project schedules and communicate any anticipated delays or obstacles promptly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on technical detail and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of circuit design fundamentals to develop appropriate test setups.
  • Ability to read and interpret programming code, electrical schematic drawings, bills of materials, and component data sheets.
  • Quality-focused mindset with strong follow-through on tasks.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing design priorities and manage multiple projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of commercial audio/visual and network equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and tracking hardware/software/firmware bugs using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Experience automating test equipment functions as part of production testing systems.
  • Experience working within regulatory constraints.
  • Proficiency in Python or other relevant programming languages for test automation and scripting.
  • Experience with iOS and Android devices, including configuration and troubleshooting.
