Freestone Environmental Services, Inc., a multi-discipline environmental consulting firm headquartered in Richland, Washington, is seeking a geologist to support environmental field investigations.
Description: The successful candidate will participate in project work at various locations on the Hanford Site near Richland, Washington. Project work will involve hydrogeologic investigations, monitoring well installation, environmental sampling, aquifer testing and analysis, and report preparation. The emphasis for this position is field work combined with in-office data analysis and report preparation. The position will involve:
- Oversight of drilling and well installation
- Participation in multimedia sampling programs
- Evaluation and interpretation of environmental and geologic data
- CERCLA and RCRA regulatory support
- Maintaining environmental databases
- Technical report preparation
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Geology/Hydrogeology
- Motivated self-starter and detail-oriented
- Able to work outside in extreme weather conditions
- Able to relocate to Richland, Washington area
Preferences:
- One to three years relevant project experience (prefer consulting experience)
- One year of Hanford field geology experience
- 40-hour HAZWOPER
- Strong technical writing skills
