Status: Full-TimeShift: Mon-Fri Days and EveningsShift Length: 8 Hours (3p-11:30p)Pay Range: $64.40 / hourContract: 13 weeksLocation: Rochester, New York (Must be more then 50 miles away from facility)

Job Summary:
A Surgical Technician, or Surgery Technician, is responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room. Their duties include gathering and organizing all surgical tools needed for a procedure, monitoring a patient's vital signs throughout surgical procedures or assisting surgical teams by handing them tools and re-sterilizing the operating room post-surgery.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
●Supervises care given by nonprofessional staff and provides instruction as needed.


Duties/Responsibilities:
• Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
• Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
• Preparing the patient for surgery
• Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
• Taking a count of all surgical instruments and supplies prior to the operation
• Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
• Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery

● Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
● Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

  • Current license to practice in NEW YORK state.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience in Ortho, Neuro, Robo, GYN, Urology, General and Vascular necessary
  • Travel experience required.
  • Must be a CERTIFIED TECH and have BLS certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
