Salary Starts at $600.00/week

Village Coordinators are responsible for leadership, daily observations, encouragement and supervision of campers and staff in their village while collectively supporting the daily operation of camp.

Nitnois Village – Girls Ages 9-11

Argonaut Village - Boys Ages 9-11

Utopian Village – Girls Ages 12-13

Ewok Village – Boys Ages 12-13

Senior Village – Boys & Girls Ages 14-15

LIT (Leaders in Training) Village – Boys & Girls Ages 15-16

CIT (Counselor in Training) Village – Boys & Girls Ages 16-17

Ranch (Equestrian Camp) Village – Boys & Girls Ages 7-16

Day Camp - Boys & Girls Ages 4-12

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide a positive role model for all
  2. Organize and develop village programming for specified age group.
    • Plan in advance and implement evening village activities.
    • Support village during overnight or cookout experiences.
  3. Inspect village cabins daily, to ensure cabin hygiene and cleanliness.
  4. Prepare supply lists for program/village needs.
  5. Attend required training, meetings, and overnights.
  6. Create a climate in the village that will foster the goals and objectives of the YMCA.
  7. Maintain respective shelter, equipment and supplies.
  8. Support and supervise village staff:
    • Assist counselors with camper problems and concerns.
    • Provide discipline and incentive to campers and staff.
    • Provide timely evaluations of staff performance.
    • Primary supervisor concerning camper problems, counseling skills, interpersonal relationship disorders, organization and implementation of activities, preparing the appropriate forms and running the daily cabin activities.
  9. Assist the Program Director in organizing all camp activities.
    • Help facilitate campfire programs, all camp activities, thunderdome (flagpole), camp themes and events.
  10. Compile and submit accurate daily attendance, program reports, incident reports and other necessary documentation.
  11. Report immediately to Program Directors any evidence of child abuse, including physical, mental and emotional neglect.
  12. Oversee behavior management of campers in village.
  13. Maintain open communication with parents, record all call logs and communications.
  14. Provide a safe environment and program for all participants.
  15. Demonstrate and promote YMCA Character Development to all members, participants and community by:

  16. Is familiar with and carries out emergency procedures, building rules and regulations.
  17. Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, wearing appropriate uniform and name tag and prepared for all assignments.
  18. Keep accurate, detailed records of incident reports and other necessary documentation.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

At least 21 years of age.

Possess skills including supervision of staff, organizational, and knowledge of summer camp activities and working with children.

Two years of college or equivalent work experience.

Person must possess values consistent with the mission of the YMCA.

Current certification in, or willingness to train in First Aid and CPR required within 30 days of hire.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
