The Dental Hygienist is the chief preventive provider of the Practice. The objective is to create an exceptional patient experience throughout the hygiene department during all hygiene and periodontal appointments whilst maintaining a productive and efficient flow of patients through the hygiene department at all times. This team member motivates, educates, and provides excellent treatment. Under indirect supervision, the Dental Hygienist will remove hard and soft deposits from teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. He or she will educate patients on oral hygiene, provide preventative dental care, take and assess radiographs, and/or apply fluoride and sealants. By discovering and documenting areas of failure, both periodontally and restoratively, he or she facilitates the dentist’s diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
What You'll Do:
- Perform dental cleanings and treatments for patients.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
- Conduct assessments of oral health and take X-rays.
- Treat and manage periodontal diseases.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans.
- Utilize iTero scans to discuss findings.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure infection control.
- Stay updated on dental hygiene best practices through continuous education.
- Current Washington State Board RDH Licensure required; active DOH license
- Maintain annual OSHA, WISHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training as required by law
- Basic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
- Must have high ethical standards and value patient care above all else
- Must love to work amongst a team of other highly skilled and motivated dental professionals
- Must be a service-oriented, team-player that maintains a positive attitude
- Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
