Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

You will be an integral part of our Information Technology team, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of IT functions. You will assist in the maintenance and support of our IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.

FOR CONSIDERATION

  • This is an on-site position. You must be available to commute or relocate to the office.
  • This is a full-time internship. You must be available to work 40.00 hours a week.
  • Internship Duration: August 2024 – December 2024

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software
  • Provide technical support to employees
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Assist in the management of user accounts, permissions, and access rights
  • Provide support on occasions where the business needs assistance or during maintenance windows, etc.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Windows administration and User implementation
  • Help Desk experience; ability to assist clients with questions
  • Familiarity with Operating system installation and setup with Linux, Mac, and Windows
  • Knowledge of PC and laptop hardware and drivers
  • Ability to answer client questions regarding basic PC functionality
  • Ability to perform inventory and stocking of equipment
  • Some Nights and Weekends as dictated by business needs. Currently this is infrequent but subject to need.

Preferred

Previous internship or work experience in IT is a bonus, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to remain in a stationary position. The employee will be required to operate a computer and will consistently use other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. as necessary.
  • The employee must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. 
  • The employee will frequently move, transport, position, install, and or remove equipment of at a minimum of 50 pounds for various needs.  
  • The employee must possess the ability to observe details at close range.
  • The employee must be able to ascend/descend a ladders and maneuver in tight spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

In addition, while performing some duties of this job, the employee may be required to travel domestically. This role may also require exposure to a variety of offshore platforms, various bodies of water, and small vessels.

The performance of this position may also occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
