Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Crane Operator to join our team. As a Mobile Crane Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely moving 20ft, 50-ton containers around our work yard using specialized mobile crane equipment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience operating cranes in industrial settings and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile crane equipment to lift, move, and position 20ft, 50-ton containers within the work yard.
- Perform pre-operational inspections on crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Safely rig containers for lifting and ensure secure attachment to the crane's hoisting apparatus.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to minimize risks and prevent accidents during crane operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate container movement tasks.
- Monitor crane operations and surroundings for any potential hazards or obstructions, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the crane equipment and surrounding storage areas.
- Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding crane operation, workplace safety, and environmental protection.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development activities to enhance proficiency in crane operation techniques and safety practices.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification or license as a Mobile Crane Operator.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating mobile cranes in industrial settings, preferably in container handling operations.
- Proficiency in operating various types of crane equipment, including but not limited to hydraulic mobile cranes.
- Strong understanding of rigging techniques and safe lifting practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to always adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform the essential duties of the job, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
