POSITION TITLE: Training Manager
DIVISION: Training Department
SUPERVISOR: Lead Training Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE:
The Training Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing a comprehensive agency training program for employees. Additionally, this position will provide oversight of required training standards for staff to have knowledge and support that best meet job expectations and responsibilities. This leadership position requires skills to delegate tasks, lead by example, and understand the influence of being a positive leader. A successful candidate should have respectable interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Perform and coordinate all efforts of agency orientation for new staff.
- Monitor, track, and document all staff training needs by organizing and scheduling necessary training.
- Conduct NCI, CPR, and BDDS trainings per established schedule.
- Schedule and create ongoing staff development opportunities for the agency staff.
- Professional leadership and mentoring of staff to create an environment that reflects company culture.
- Maintain consistent communication and feedback to supervisor throughout new hire orientation.
- Model and promote company’s expectations of behavior, culture, and mission
- Respond appropriately to emergency health and safety situations.
- Maintain confidentiality adhering to HIPPA guidelines and company policies.
- Comply with all DSI policies and procedures which include Human Resources and mandatory training requirements.
- Promote health and safety in all agency activities.
- Participates in meetings, professional development activities, special projects and assignments as required.
- Review reports and resolves problems to ensure minimum costs, optimal quality, and to prevent delays and deficiencies; assure that program(s) and services meet applicable standards and regulations and takes action to intervene when deficiencies are identified.
- Strong ability to lead with accountability and professional behavior in all situations
- Create a culture of quality in programming for the facilities and in the consumer homes.
- Oversee and audit mandatory compliance training.
- Review and respond to emails, required reports, and audits in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development, revision, and monitoring of standard operational and working practices to assure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain systems for reporting and recording key information.
- Maintain required regulatory training and provide training as needed.
- Participate in marketing and public relations efforts as assigned or approved.
- Provide oversight to the compliance training tab in Provide and ensure information is entered correctly.
- Able to perform essential duties required for position.
- Additional duties as required.
- Potential to supervise additional training staff as assigned per location.
- Provide oversight in re-training of current staff.
- Provide oversight in CS Train tab in Provide, to ensure training information is entered and maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
- Excellent and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to perform budgeting calculation and comparisons.
- Must possess critical thinking skills.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Comply with ethical standards of DSI, FSSA, and other governing bodies.
- Ability to work flexible, non-standard hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to effectively operate equipment such as a scanner and copier and have a working knowledge of computers and related software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; and two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Maintain all agency certification requirements including CPR.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license, insurance on personal vehicle (minimum of PLPD with medical liability coverage), and maintain insurability as defined by the agency liability insurance carrier.
