Licensed Nursing Home Administrator

Overview:
This individual is the commander and chief responsible for supervising, educating, understating and hold compliance on the daily operations of the community, including but not limited to resident care, services, personnel, and finances. The Administrator shall provide the supervision necessary to ensure that the residents receive proper care and treatment, that their health and safety are protected and promoted, and that their rights are respected. The Administrator shall also be responsible for ensuring marketing hours are being met, census goals are reached, and overall compliance is held.
Job Description:
Overseeing day-to-day administration, with responsibility for financial performance (budgets),
marketing (census), compliance with all regulatory requirements, and quality of care.
Directing and organizing the facility Mandatory Monday meetings ensuring proactiveness and
plans for each department are reviewed. *Admin Weekly Plan and Update Form to be used
Complying with Residents’ Rights and all community policies and procedures.
Ensuring Department checklists are completed weekly and items on them are compliant.
Complying with Residents’ Rights and community policies and procedures.
Reviewing and investigating resident complaints ensuring compliance with resident rights and
working to resolve resident grievances immediately.
Assisting in the oversight/working with referral sources to identify prospective residents to
ensure census goals are met.
ADT updates and communication in PCC for resident changes are communicated.
Assisting in obtaining and reviewing medical information on prospective residents to compile for
assessment purposes.
Completing the CBRF continuing education requirements per company and DHS guidelines
Maintaining up to date and accurate information in the State Survey Record Binder
Assisting in completing on-site initial assessments for prospective residents to determine
appropriateness for community placement as needed.
Overseeing and assisting as necessary in the admission process ensuring that appropriate
resources are obtained to complete the Clinical Care Chart Review form for a successful
admission and providing appropriate information to facilitate continuity of care.
Facilitating Quality Systems Tracer Review Process (noted on the CSL Operations calendar)
Assisting in the completion and follow up of CICA audits as necessary.
Oversight in the: Coordinating, organizing, directing, and maintaining current work schedules of
the clinical care staff, culinary staff, and other facility staff.
Demonstrating a passion for quality care as evidenced by interactions with co-workers,
residents, families, and visitors.
Completing rounds at a minimum of daily to ensure CSL is maintaining a clean, homelike
environment that is free from hazards by tidying up spaces, cleaning up after residents, and
ensuring that they always look better than presentable.
Overseeing Maintenance/TELS to ensure documentation is being completed in the TELS
program to include, but not limited to; scheduled drills, scheduled maintenance, housekeeping
tasks, etc.
Working with Regional HR Director and LE to motivate employees through recognition
programs, training, and team building.
Providing supervision of the Management Team Directors, including but not limited to;
monitoring job performance, coaching, counseling, and conducting management team’s
performance evaluations.
Reporting and documenting all incidents/accidents of residents, visitors, and staff, and reporting
them per regulations.
Participating in State and Federal surveys and compliant investigations, representing CSL in the
highest standard, review, and developing a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during
survey inspections with Corporate.
Obtaining education on and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on all facility systems to include
but not limited to: TELS, TEK-TONE, Point Click Care, OnShift, BambooHR, Microsoft Office, (Fire
Panel and Security System).
During lease-up period (or whenever census drops below 50 residents), working with the
Operations Regional Director, dedicating a minimum of 16 hours per week to Marketing tasks.
After lease-up period (when census is at or above 60 residents), dedicating a minimum of 4
hours per week to Marketing tasks. Developing a strategy and implementing programs designed
to represent Cambridge favorably and make positive contributions to the community while
raising awareness about CSL.
Acting as a liaison between hospital, physicians, nursing homes, other medical providers, and
our community to resolve problems, provide information, and maintain positive relationships.
Achieving and maintaining required number of marketing contacts per week (minimum of 30
contacts, this does not include VM’s)
Sustaining positive relationships with community members, nonprofit organizations, and
employees to cultivate a favorable operating climate for CSL.
Assisting the Asst Admin & Regional HR Director in recruiting and hiring competent
Management Team Directors, clinical care staff, and other auxiliary personnel.
Oversight in accurate completion for necessary supply ordering at the facility to ensure
accurate and ample number of supplies is available for facility use, while remaining within
monthly budget costs.
Overseeing/Maintaining Resident Trust Accounts with the Administrative Assistant - Customer
Care Specialist to ensure accuracy and funds available to residents when requested, within a
reasonable time frame.
Assisting Accounting to ensure payments are received by scheduled due date and correctly
deposited.
Completing ISP training to assist with updates when necessary.
Assisting in reviewing and updating resident service plans as necessary
Assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) to include but not limited to; bathing,
showering, dressing, grooming, shaving, nail care, hair care, eating, making bed, doing laundry,
ambulating, and helping to activities and other functions.
Knowing & communicating the mission, vision, and values of CSL.
Greeting visitors and guests with a caring, compassionate manner.
Encouraging teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other
departments.
Maintaining a high standard and professional dress attire.
Participating in administrative meetings and other gatherings as deemed necessary.
Assuring compliance in completing proper documentation in electronic medical record.
Following all federal, state, and company reporting requirements to maintain compliance.
Attending all mandatory staff in-services.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Following rules and regulations outlined in DHS 83 and CSL Policies and Procedures that are not
specifically outlined above.
Qualifications:
Valid Nursing Home Administrator's License issued by the department of safety and professional services.
Direct experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility in the state of WI
Must be at least 21 years old.
CBRF Registry, CPR/AED certified, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care experience preferred, but not required
