Role Overview:
Tredit Tire and Wheel is dedicated to remaining a recognized leader in the supply of quality tire & wheel assemblies to Original Equipment Manufacturers and the Aftermarket. To remain a recognized leader, we are seeking a Buyer/Planner that has excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. We are looking for someone who has strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position is responsible for procuring raw materials, components, tooling, equipment and purchased services at the appropriate quality, lowest price and within an acceptable time frame by performing the following duties.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversees and maintains current inventory for the Boardman, OR Tredit location.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Negotiates agreements with suppliers to attain acceptable quality, lowest price, and timely deliveries for the company.
- Maintains contact with all markets and vendors from which the company procures goods or services through personal contact, professional associations, and trade publications.
- Prepares vendor purchase orders, enters in ERP, and emails or confirms as needed.
- Maintains vendor purchase orders and quotation files.
- Issues and monitors company quotation requests for new material to be purchased.
- Manages major purchase contracts which are over $50,000 in value or are of duration of greater than twelve months.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases based on consideration of floor space and the cost of inventory.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

What Tredit Tire is looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
- At least two years of direct purchasing experience required.
- ERP experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and high proficiency in Excel.
- APICS Certification is a plus.
- Import Experience is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts as they relate to distribution.
