Job Description

The ideal candidate for a Supply Base Analyst would be able to do the following:

  1. Ensure the timely delivery of raw materials to mitigate disruption to manufacturing operations and service while achieving the lowest possible cost of ownership for Alto-Shaam.
  2. Analyze MRP, reorder points, and service requirements, and provide supply base with material requirements via purchase orders and blanket releases.
  3. Ensure suppliers meet delivery requirements through regular follow-up and proactive expediting.
  4. Grow in the areas of strategic purchasing activities for site specific services, including executing the development, preparation, solicitation, analysis, business case presentation, and recommendation of providers.  Responsible for ensuring quality, minimizing total cost of ownership, sustaining production, and mitigating financial risk.
  5. Balance inventory to both support manufacturing requirements and achieve lean inventory objectives.
  6. Maintain system database of planning and procurement parameters to ensure the replenishment methods are reflective of current business conditions and support management by exception approach.
  7. Manage engineering changes to support production and service while minimizing excess and obsolete material. 
  8. Resolve supplier non-conformance issues and get to root cause and problem resolution utilizing established problem-solving methods and supplier quality processes.
  9. Develop and execute strategies to create inbound transportation efficiencies across all site specific suppliers, including exploration of returnable packaging; resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
  10. Maintain good supplier relations and represent Alto-Shaam in a professional and ethical manner while driving suppliers to meet delivery and quality expectations.
Qualifications

For a candidate to be successful as a Supply Base Analyst they must have:

  • Bachelors’ degree required.  Emphasis in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management preferred.
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of best practices in Supply Chain Management.  CPSM or APICS certification preferred.
  • Strong customer service and grow in the area of project leadership (cross-functionally) to deliver results on-time and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills.  Ability to understand and communicate basic technical information both internally & externally with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; with strong networking, influencing, and organizational skills; and to drive effective project execution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills inclusive of all Microsoft Business Suite required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to travel (up to 10%).
