As a Machine Shop Supervisor at Elizabeth Tooling - McKeesport, PA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production of punch and dies for use in rotary press machines. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of a team of machinists, finishers, and helpers ensuring that they meet production targets, maintain high-quality standards, and adhere to safety protocols. Your expertise in punch-and-die manufacturing processes, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills will be vital in this role.

This position reports to the Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of machinists, finishers, and helpers to achieve production goals and maintain a positive working environment.
  
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  
• Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and performance expectations
  
• Monitor the production process, ensuring that all punches and dies are manufactured accurately and efficiently.
  
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to review blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
  
• Provide hands-on support to your team by filling in on job operations if no one is available at the time to keep the critical production processes moving forward
  
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of precision and craftsmanship (address any quality concerns and implement corrective actions).
  
• Troubleshoot machine /programming errors
  
• Conduct safety training and ensure that all team members adhere to safety regulations to promote a safe working environment.
  
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment used in the operation department.
  
• Coordinate tool and die maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  
• Order and maintain an inventory of daily used shop supplies for production
  
• Generate/maintain reports on production performance, efficiency, and quality
  
• Ensure a customer's requirements are complete per the product specifications
  

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
  
• 7+ years of successful leadership experience required. Internal candidates with a demonstrated track record of success within the organization may be considered for this position with a reduced requirement for external experience.
  
• Proven experience as a punch and die maker (or equivalent)
  
• Working knowledge of punch and die manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, grinding, and EDM (CNC programming and CAD proficiency are a plus)

• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal communication skills.

Pay Range: $34.00 - $44.00 hourly

Schedule: This position will be rotating shifts. 1st shift is Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and 2nd shift is Monday - Friday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. 2nd shift offer a $3.00 shift differential
