Summary of the Job:

The Robotic Welding Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and programming of robotic welding equipment in a manufacturing environment. They ensure that robotic welding systems function efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Setup and operate robotic welding equipment according to job specifications and production schedules.


2. Program robotic welding systems to perform various welding tasks, including adjusting parameters such as speed, voltage, and wire feed.


3. Conduct regular maintenance on robotic welding equipment to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.


4. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with robotic welding systems, performing repairs or coordinating with maintenance personnel for complex problems.


5. Monitor the quality of welded parts, making adjustments to robotic welding programs or equipment settings as necessary to maintain quality standards.


6. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize robotic welding processes for efficiency, quality, and safety.


7. Maintain documentation related to robotic welding operations, including program backups, maintenance logs, and quality control records.


8. Train and mentor other technicians or production staff on the operation and maintenance of robotic welding equipment.


9. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.



OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

1. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance


2. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to support production schedules.


3. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.


4. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with

cross-functional teams.


Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in welding or robotics is preferred.



TRAINING:

1. Proficiency in robotic programming languages such as CWL or similar.


2. Proficiency in offline programming and simulation systems such as Roboplan or similar.



Critical Skills:

1. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.


2. Proven experience in operating and maintaining robotic welding equipment in a manufacturing environment.


3. Strong understanding of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and/or resistance welding.

Physical Demands:

1. Regularly: Stand, sit, reach with hands or arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and lift 35 pounds.


2. Frequently: Walk and use hands to finger.


3. Vision Requirements: Close, peripheral, depth, perception and ability to adjust and focus.



Work Environment:

Shop environment.
