Job DescriptionJob Description

Kustom is currently hiring an Estimator who will be responsible for generating Xactimate estimates for restoration and mitigation projects assigned or for job leads generated. Estimators are responsible for all follow up changes in dollar value to the project (Change Orders, Supplements, Code Upgrades, etc.). The estimator works closely with Project Managers and the Sales Manager in meet or exceed sales goals and to write sheets and communicate methodology used in order to meet or exceed profit goals.

Salary Range: $75k-$95k, Negotiable; depending on experience.

Core Responsibilities:

Estimate Creation:

  • Generate estimates predominantly using Xactimate from Matterport scans, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Align estimates with the profitability standards set by Kustom’s Operational Excellence Team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the creation of accurate estimates.

Prospect Engagement (Sometimes performed by RSS):

  • Sell the benefits of Kustom’s services to secure Authorizations to Proceed from prospects.
  • Utilize Matterport technology for in-depth property assessments, to aid in estimate accuracy.

Negotiation and Approval:

  • Conduct negotiations with insurance adjusters to gain approvals for estimates and supplements.
  • Monitor and update estimates, ensuring adherence to industry and organizational standards.
  • Provide detailed visual and documented accounts of damage, supporting the approval process.

Continued Professional Development:

  • The Reconstruction Estimator is expected to engage in continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest industry codes, software updates, and best practices to ensure that estimates are accurate, competitive, and compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as an estimator in the field of reconstruction.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate for accurate estimate creation.
  • Candidates with ability to navigate and efficiently use Symbility will be considered favorably.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing estimate approvals from insurance adjusters.
  • Ability to effectively engage with prospects, addressing their needs and concerns, and securing Authorizations to Proceed.
