Job Summary:

Hinderer Motor Company is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, goal-oriented person to work in our front office with our estimating team.

The ideal candidate must be a motivated professional, capable of writing or assisting in writing accurate estimates on a variety of vehicles. 

Compensation is based on experience. The Automotive Collision Estimator is responsible for writing and/or assisting writing body shop estimates, negotiating with insurance adjusters, communicating with customers and completing billing and other shop income-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Educate customers on the repair process.
  • Examines damaged vehicles for related and unrelated accident damage.
  • Prepare and explain itemized estimates to customers & insurance companies.
  • Regularly communicates with customers to keep them informed of progress.
  • Review supplemental damage with technicians and insurance adjusters.
  • Quality inspects the vehicles following repairs to verify that repairs have been done properly.
  • Maintaining up to date technical knowledge sufficient to effectively communicate with clients and staff of body shop department.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, insurance companies, and technicians
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and techniques is a plus
  • Familiarity with auto body repair process is a plus
  • Familiarity in using computerized estimating systems and software is a plus
  • Experience with CCC, Mitchell or ADP is a plus.
