Job Summary:
Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts and our Ski Patrol team is no exception to ensuring this experience of a lifetime. Responsible for promoting the safety and security of staff and guests on the mountain, Ski Patrol are alert and dependable professionals focused on promoting safety with the ability to remain calm in a crisis when incidents arise.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.26 / hour
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time (35+ hours per week)
- Required Certification Level: OEC; EMT
- Required Ski Level: Expert
- Other Specifics: Patrol members operate at some of the highest elevations on the mountain on all terrains and in all weather conditions. Due to the nature of this position candidates must be able to pass an expert level ski patrol test upon hire; snowboard only candidates may be ineligible for certain positions due to safety concerns.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote guest safety
- Assist injured guests on the mountain
- Maintain trails, including closures, safety materials, avalanche mitigation, and other impacts from natural environment
- Assist in chairlift guest evacuation
- Assist experienced route leaders in avalanche mitigation
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
- Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment · Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
- Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment
- Must be available to work holidays and weekends. All entry positions are full time, 5 days a week.
The expected pay range is $21.00 - $23.26. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
