Core Affordable has an immediate need for an Asset Management Coordinator to join our team in downtown San Jose.  This position provides support to the Real Estate Asset Management team, including data entry, record keeping and preparing basic financial reports.  Reporting to the Supervisor of Asset Management, we rely on this position to ensure that complete and accurate information flows on a timely basis among all stakeholders.  This position is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience in asset management, particularly in affordable housing, and who demonstrates excellent attention to detail.  Core is committed to growing its team members, so the ability to learn quickly and apply new skills, coupled with a desire to continue a career in real estate asset management will make you a candidate we want to learn more about.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Clerical Support to the Asset Management team
    • Maintain, update and retrieve electronic records, such as incidents & costs, invoices, inspections & closeouts, reserve withdrawals, capital project payment status, contact lists and monthly financial reports
    • Schedule meetings
  • Special Projects
    • Produce document abstracts, org charts and similar material
    • Research significant amounts of project documents for specific information
    • May interpret and make recommendations on loan, regulatory or contract compliance requirements
  • Information Reporting
    • Prepare, format, and consolidate information for presentations
    • Prepare for reporting to external partners by making sure all data are received, complete and validated
    • Review monthly financials, comparing property performance to budgets and targets

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Associate’s degree or paralegal certification or similar qualification required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired
  • At least 2 years of related experience in asset management for affordable housing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive, taking action in advance to avoid future problems or delays
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including ability to create and modify Excel-based cash flow models
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of affordable housing to the quality of life of residents and the community
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Affordable Housing real estate procedures and practices is desired
