Duties and responsibilities

  • Reviews assessment and referral material to assess appropriate level of care and liaisons with internal and external agencies to create plans for movement to the next level of care.
  • Perform initial psychosocial assessments with an interpretive summary, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.
  • Complete immediate risk assessment for suicidal clients, identify any risk factors, complete safety plans, and triage them to safety.
  • Provide long-term or time-limited individual, group, couple, and/or family therapy.
  • Provide emergency crisis interventions to persons in emotional or situational crises
  • Report suspected child/elderly abuse/s to child/adult protective services and maintain proper records of the report.
  • Maintain and update mental health files in EMR system creating and updating client’s treatment plans, updating consent to treatment forms and completing discharge summaries
  • Review and evaluate clients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plans.
  • Complete treatment plan, GAINS and LOCUS on credible software system
  • Complete encounter notes within 48 hours of the encounter except for suicidal and homicidal clients whose encounter notes needs to be completed right away, transfer and/or discharge summaries as needed.
  • Complete case reviews, obtain authorization for services, and create and update person centered treatment plans every six months
  • Complete quarterly peer reviews and assessing clients’ progress towards recovery
  • Meet established weekly productivity benchmarks
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and monthly supervision
  • Attend CEU’s and maintain a valid clinical license to provide clinical services to the client
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the program director/clinical supervisor.
  • Attend and Conducts department meetings and training programs as needed.
  • Ensure all annual psychosocial functional assessments; annual Individual Recovery Plans (IRP’s) and 180-day IRP updates for consumers assigned to the team are completed within established timelines to ensure compliance with MHRS standards through supervision of the Care Coordinator and review of all documentation.
  • Available as a back-up QP (Qualify Personnel) for completed assessment and treatment plan
  • Reviews and approves documentation for accuracy completed by CSW's as needed

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field and Licensed as a LICSW, LPC, LGSW, in the District of Columbia (required)
  • Three or more years direct clinical services experience with adults and families.
  • Must possess knowledge, skills and abilities in family dynamics, crisis intervention skills, skills in clinical supervision of licensed and non-licensed therapists
  • Ability to work well under pressure and under short deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple cases concurrently
  • Reasonable administrative and coordination skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of mental health care service delivery
  • Ability to work in a team

Experience:

  • Diagnostic assessment: 2 years (Required)
  • Direct clinical mental health: 3 years (Required)
  • MHRS program: 1 year (Required)
  • Credible software: 1 year (Required)

Education:

  • Master's (Required)

Working conditions

  • Office setting and occasional field supervision
  • May occasionally require completing assessment in the community

Physical requirements

Requires standing, occasional lifting (25 lbs)
