Catskill Hudson Bank (CHB) has an immediate opening for a full-time, experienced Teller in our Green Island, NY Branch. We are seeking an individual who is interested in a career in the financial industry and has teller, customer service, and cash handling experience.  The successful candidate will perform a variety of financial transactions and recommend additional products and services to our customers.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance customer service.
 Provides excellent customer service in a courteous, professional and enthusiastic manner.
 Communicates with customers as well as internal bank staff in a courteous and professional manner.
 Answers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts, as well as other bank related products.
 Explains and promotes bank products and services to new and existing customers.
 Gains familiarity and complies with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA),
Equal Opportunity Employment Act, as well as bank policies and procedures.
 Assist with customer inquiries and direct customers to other personnel as required
 Contributes to overall branch sales goals.
 Answers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts, as well as other bank related products.
 Opens and closes the branch, maintains and stays abreast of security policies and procedures.
 Adhere to the bank’s security and audit controls. Maintain dual control.
 Review customer documents for accuracy and completion and process accordingly.
 Operates and balances cash drawer on a daily basis and within established guideline.
 Maintains effective control over cash at all times.
 Assists with verifying currency and coin shipments as needed. Maintains dual control.
 Accepts and accurately processes various transactions, including, but not limited to: check cashing, loan
payments, deposits, and withdrawals.
 Balance and process ATM and Night Drop deposits following dual control and procedure.
 Balance and process Vault and Night Drop deposits following dual control and procedure.
 Process Stop Payments via Onboard Deposits.
 Setup and process AFT via Onboard.
 Order checks through Harland Clarke.
 Process and request branch file maintenance.
 Assist Head Teller/Branch Manager with daily reports (closed accounts, new account, new CIF, etc.).
 Assist Head Teller/Branch Manager with branch record retention.
 Maintains a satisfactory difference record. Minimizes cash differences and losses.
 Maintains a neat and organized workspace.
 Crosstrain on all functions within the branch.
 Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior 3+ years of experience in a banking or financial institution is preferred
  • Excellent oral communication and customer service skills
  • Strong sales skills and abilities
