Part-Time Bookkeeper

Villa Bellezza is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to support its owners in operating and growing.  We are an award-willing winery located in Pepin, Wisconsin.  Our business includes our winery, vineyards, tasting room, restaurant and event center.  Villa Bellezza Winery offers our customers a unique Italian wine & food experience.


As a management group, we actively use operating and financial information.  We operate on a 4 week/4 week/5 week quarter to ensure comparability from year to year.  We also prepare monthly departmental income statements.


We are open to hiring either an individual or a service provider to meet our bookkeeping needs.  This can be a hybrid work arrangement with one day a week in the office.


Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable and Billing
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Payroll
  • Inventory Accounting
  • Wine excise and sales tax reporting
  • Prepare weekly operating summaries using data from POS systems and Event Management system
  • Journal entries
  • Monthly close

These services are currently provided by the staff of a related company.  They will support the bookkeeper during transition and remain available after transition.  Income tax preparation services are provided by an independent CPA firm.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years experience as a bookkeeper working directly with business owners and managers
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • Skill in using Excel
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail
