Mental Health Therapist - Shine Community Services

We are now accepting applications for a Mental Health Therapist.

Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for initial intakes, ongoing in-home counseling, and support services for a mixed caseload, including adults, adolescents, children, and families struggling with their mental health, communication challenges, and/or family conflict. This role works as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, providing services to a broad spectrum of clients. This position may be filled by an individual who is eligible to conduct third-party billing for services.

Education Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology. Licensure as or eligible for licensure as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW, MSW, MMHC, CSW in Wisconsin.
  • Must maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout the course of employment.

Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt position averaging a minimum of 40 hours per week. Work is generally performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional or flexible hours or days of work may be required to provide services. Reliability and punctuality are necessary to maintain appointments with clients.

Work Environment:

This position will work primarily at the Shine Community Services building but may also work remotely within the Chileda service area. Work may also be performed in client homes, school settings and other places as deemed therapeutically appropriate.


Must Possess:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with County agencies, community stakeholders, and school districts as needed.
  • Ability to maintain agency, coworker, and client confidentiality and abide by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Reliable means of transportation and a valid drivers license. Minimum vehicle insurance standards are required if using a personal vehicle for job duties
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Ability to maintain a minimum of 110 billable hours per month based on a full caseload.
  • Counsel clients, individually and in group sessions, to assist them in overcoming struggles, adjusting to life, and making changes.
  • Collaborate with families, school staff, social workers, and other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
