Assistant Teacher Salary: $15.50 - 17.00 per hour

Assistant Teacher Hours: 7:30am to 1:00pm or 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm or flexible

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
  • Leading age appropriate activities for children ages 6 months - 4 years
  • Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
  • Building strong relationships with the parents
  • Interacting with children, supporting classroom and lead teacher

Assistant Teacher Qualifications:

  • Have 2+ years of experience working with children - this can be professional, volunteer, or familial (babysitting, etc.)
  • Are a high school graduate. College credits in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Sub Certificate preferred
  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Can be trained in First Aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen (training provided)
