Job Overview:

Graham Technologies (GTECH) seeks a Test Engineer who determines how to create a process that would best test a particular product in manufacturing and related disciplines, in order to assure that the product meets applicable specifications. Test engineers are also responsible for determining the best way a test can be performed in order to achieve adequate test coverage.

You will be happy to know that this a remote role with a preference for candidates based in Dayton, OH or the DC area. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and training. The role requires collaboration with teams across different departments and locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to analyze and define system requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Test, develop, maintain, and improve Java-based applications based on defined requirements.
  • Assist in the application development and rationalization process, ensuring optimal configuration and use of systems.
  • Understand legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS and ensure that their capabilities and constraints are factored into the application development.
  • Provide testing support, including creating test cases and identifying test data needs.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure code and documentation quality.
  • Understand and incorporate operational and system views into the development process.
  • Participate in code modernization and refactoring efforts.

Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Java and the testing lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with full-stack development including code modernization and refactoring.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
  • More than five (5) years of professional experience in test engineering or related roles.
  • US Citizen with the ability to pass a background check.
  • Proven experience as a Java tester.
  • Knowledge of and experience with legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS.
  • Experience with testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with code modernization and refactoring

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
