Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, hard working, dedicated individual to join our Taprooms The bartender position is responsible for maintaining excellent customer service standards, taproom cleanliness, engaging with customers in a positive and upbeat manner, and completing tasks as assigned. This position reports to the Taproom Supervisor and Assistant Taproom Supervisor. 

 

The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for Independent Craft Beer and live within the Ventura and Santa Barbara County area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining excellent customer service throughout shift
  • Responsible for engaging with customers in a positive and upbeat manner 
  • Responsible for maintaining taproom cleanliness
  • Responsible for consistently scanning the room to make sure all customers are taken care of, the taproom is clean, and nothing out of the ordinary is taking place
  • Responsible for maintaining self-education on Topa Topa Brewing Co. brands and brewery knowledge and the craft beer industry in general
  • Responsible for pouring the perfect pint and taster every time
  • Responsible for reporting any suspicious or illegal behavior to supervisor or manager immediately
  • Responsible for checking ID’s of all people who look under 40 years old
  • Responsible for understanding and being able to answer basic questions about general beer knowledge
  • Responsible for setting up/breaking down events as delegated by Supervisor, including private events
 

Required Experience:

  • Must complete RBS certification, Beer Server Certification, and Food Handlers Certification within one month of date of hire and maintain certifications
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Must have an upbeat attitude and a willingness to work as a team 
 

Requirements:

  • After a conditional offer of employment is offered, must be willing to submit to a standard background check
 

Schedule:

  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends and at least three shifts/week

Pay:

16/hr + tips, all credit card tips are paid out on each paycheck bi-weekly as a separate line item. Staff may access tip pool info via the Revel Report accessible to Supervisors. In house tip records are kept and accessible at any point via GoogleDocs and all cash tips are disbursed at the end of the night.
