Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. (AR&E) is a family-owned business that has been involved in the community for over 25 years.  We specialize in electric motors, pumps, generators, and controls. We are looking for a talented Buyer / Inventory Specialist to join our team. Description of the broad function & scope of position:

 

  • Purchasing materials and supplies required for production and new sales.
  • Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure better prices and terms.
  • Develop & implement procurement strategies.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Help create a process to procedure of adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Updating and maintaining purchasing records and data.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
  • Participate in problem resolution activities with material quality or customer service problems encompassing vendors and suppliers.
  • Help create a new SKU system for inventory management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Excellent Communication skills, which includes verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective relationships to achieve successful results with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
  • Effective problem-solving skills using analytical techniques to ensure successful corrective actions.
  • The ability to perform and retain various job-related training, operations, and safety procedures.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.
  • The ability or willingness to learn to use a forklift and overhead crane for safely offloading vendor and customer equipment.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8a to 5p with a 1-hour lunch
