As the Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic and under the supervision of the Wastewater Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic supports the operations of the Wastewater Division, which includes a Treatment Lead, a Collection Lead, and three utility workers. The maintenance mechanic ensures the plant's continuous and efficient operation by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment failures, and implementing improvements. The Wastewater Division is part of the Public Works Department, and the general working hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Hourly Pay Rate Ranges: (Placement at hire based on qualifications)
Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic: $31.59 - $38.39

Additional Salary Information: Effective July 1, 2025, these positions will receive a three-point-five (3.5%) cost-of-living adjustment (salary increase). Effective July 1, 2026, these positions will receive a cost-of-living adjustment (salary increase) of three-point-five (3.5%)

Benefits include:
Excellent medical, vision, and dental benefits package for employees and qualified family members with low monthly out-of-pocket costs. Currently, the employee-paid premium is approx. $60/mo. for employee-only coverage up to a max of $174/mo. for family coverage.

Paid time off includes:
11 paid holidays, birthday off, plus an additional 32 hours of "floating holiday" pay per year
8 hours of sick leave per month
8 hours of vacation leave per month, with progressive increases

Excellent retirement benefits include:
City-paid participation in the City's Retirement System after 6-months of employment
City-paid contribution into pre-tax deferred compensation plan after 6-months of employment
