Purpose:

As an Electrical Safety Instructor at Knobelsdorff Enterprises, you will ensure the safety and well-being of our teams and clients through engaging and effective training. You will leverage your deep understanding of OSHA and NFPA 70E-B safety practices to assist General Superintendents, Construction Managers, and Project Teams in completing projects safely. This position will require travel to clients sites nationwide.   


Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and advise/mentor project teams on Knobelsdorff's safety policies, training requirements, and procedures. 
  • Provide customer specific safety training on topics related to LOTO, Proper PPE Usage, Arc Flash, OSHA and NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B
  • Oversee and audit project-level safety documentation, adhering to Knobelsdorff standards.
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Supervise employee adherence to all safety rules and regulations, and take appropriate action for violations.
  • Create, prepare and coordinate: mandated safety statistics reports required for compliance. 
  • Assist field personnel on-site with mitigation strategies for EHS/OHS challenges. 
  • Attend “Tailgate” meetings prior to work to discuss job site hazards, JHA completion, daily objections, and best practices, and coach/mentor the team.
  • Assist with pre-construction preparation and coordination from a Safety perspective.
  • Develop and build a working relationship with all project team members (field). 
  • Contribute to our apprenticeship program through instructing onsafety standards


Qualifications:

  • Must be available to travel within the US, including overnight stays for up to a week at a time. 
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Expert-level knowledge of basic electricity fundamentals, NFPA 70E NFPA 70B  standards, OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices, and LOTO procedures.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and OSHA Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessment procedures, and mitigation strategy implementation.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED/Fall Protection Competent Person Certified or willingness to obtain upon hire 
  • Authorized OSHA Instructor for General industry or Construction 
  • Prefer experience in the electrical industry as a working electrician
  • Willingness to achieve BCSP STS in occupational health and safety within twelve months of hire
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.

  • Ability to satisfactory pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.


Skills:

    • Strong organizational skills, including paperwork management and training preparation.
    • Proficiency in using a computer and projector to deliver PowerPoint presentations.
    • Ability to present technical topics engagingly and non-condescendingly.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive work relationships and function independently without constant oversight.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Competency in Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook).

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods.
  • Capable of working in extreme temperatures and lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • Willingness to “lend a hand and get dirty” if needed.
  • Ability to withstand the rigors of air and car travel, including managing baggage and long-distance driving.
