Role Description
Revolution Field Strategies is seeking canvassers to participate in the organization’s direct voter contact program. As a canvasser, you will travel door to door in the community to talk to voters. You will be responsible for having a certain number of conversations per day. If you’re fired up and ready to organize in your community, we urge you to apply
The location for this position will be: North Carolina
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 6 hours per day) while meeting and talking to people
Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to progressive politics, advocacy, and public policy
Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by RFS
Consistently meet daily and weekly conversation goals
Understand how to use a cell-phone to track and submit data
Excellent communication skills including active listening and interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements
Good time management skills to fulfill goals within a specific period
Ability to travel consistently during the contract period
Must be willing to work at least 3 7-hour shifts per week
Preferred
Previous experience with data entry and reporting functions
Previous paid or volunteer canvass or fundraising experience (including door-to-door sales work, Census outreach work, etc.)
Telemarketing or retail marketing experience
Social service or organizing experience
There is no formal education requirement for this position
Compensation
This is an hourly position with Revolution Field Strategies, with an hourly rate of $20.
