Administrative Supervisor
Alaska Power & Telephone has a full-time opening for an Administrative Supervisor (Admin Supervisor).
The Admin Supervisor will lead the efforts of the Administrative function for all AP&T properties. The Admin Supervisor will supervise all aspects of Admin including administrative functions performed by staff, establishing of and adherence to budgets, policies, procedures, and training. Provide cooperative interaction with Operations, Billing, Marketing, Accounting and Corporate departments.

Our ideal candidate is a person who is driven to serve departments across the company with a positive "can-do" attitude, who is great with people, eager to learn and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize periodic Admin group meetings to discuss current topics and provide internal trainings
- Supervise Admins across the company
- Represent and coordinate the Admin group with other departments.
- Establish an intake and approval process for admin work and projects
- Establish common filing methods / locations for administrative paperwork
- Develop procedures for any new or changed work practices
- Organize external training for Admins when and if necessary
- Work with Admins to understand local variations and standardize practices throughout the company. This will require some travel to the local offices.
- Create written guidelines or policies to provide consistent guidance for department work.
- Work on Admin cross training, information systems and procedures so that Admins have the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to work with internal customers across the company
- Encourage and facilitate Admins in forming a cohesive, integrated team across AP&T
- Lead admin recruitment and succession planning
- Prepare and monitor budget of the Admin department
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to self-motivate, manage time, plan projects, communicate with other team members
- Efficient with Microsoft office and other similar basic computer tools
- Current passport and ability to travel to other locations, up to 15% of workload may involve travel
- Mental flexibility, willingness to learn unfamiliar parts of the job and a positive attitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of the operations of an electrical and telecommunications utility
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience Required:
- 5 years experience in a business office setting
- Experience working for an electric or telecommunications utility
Experience Desired:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Familiar with isolated Alaskan communities and challenges of Alaskan companies and employees.
- 5-10 years' experience working as an Admin for AP&T

- The employee may be occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift, handle, or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust vision.
The pay range for this position is $33.17-$39.76 per hour and is D.O.E.
This position will close at 5:00PM on Thursday, August 29th.
