The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association of Texas (PHCC) is a state trade association founded in 1914. Its purpose and mission are to advocate for the licensed skilled trades dedicated to plumbing and HVAC. As the largest provider of state-mandated continuing education, PHCC takes the lead in producing quality curriculum, employing the most experienced instructors, and providing top-notch customer service to members and non-members alike.

Working Hours: Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch

Pay Range: $111,000/year to $121,000/year depending on experience

Who We Are Looking For:

We are on the hunt for a dynamic Executive Director who can juggle multiple tasks with finesse, possesses robust interpersonal skills, and is brimming with passion and vision to drive our organization forward. If you are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is adept at multi-tasking, and can envision and execute strategic plans, you're the candidate we want

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the board to actualize the organization's mission
  • Lead with vision, ensuring alignment with the association's overarching goals
  • Coordinate four quarterly board meetings annually and engage monthly with the Executive Committee via Zoom
  • Spearhead the planning and execution of our flagship annual convention, rallying board members, committee members, and staff
  • Secure optimal conference venues, negotiating the best rates and concessions
  • Curate an enriching educational program, source dynamic speakers, and oversee event logistics from A to Z
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to amplify event promotions and sponsorship initiatives
  • Oversee and optimize association revenue streams, including dues, educational offerings, and affinity programs
  • Monitor financial performance, ensuring adherence to the budget while proactively addressing variances
  • Implement the board's directives, championing the association's legislative efforts
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of 5, ensuring operational excellence and budgetary adherence
  • Maintain digital accessibility, website management, and compliance with state reporting agencies

Requirements:

  • BA in Business, Communications, or a related field
  • 3 plus years of experience in a senior leadership role
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and self-manage
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and AMS platforms like YourMembership
  • A visionary mindset, coupled with leadership prowess and operation acumen
  • Strong public speaking skills and ability to grow our membership
  • Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation is a plus
