Description:

As a Plastics Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing vacuum thermoforming processes to produce high-quality plastic components and products. You will leverage your expertise in mold design, material selection, and production techniques to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of plastics engineering and the ability to lead projects focused on process improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize vacuum forming manufacturing processes, including mold design, material selection, and production techniques.
  • Design and implement new vacuum forming procedures to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design and production, to develop innovative solutions and products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Lead projects focused on scaling up production, introducing new technologies, and enhancing process automation.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production staff to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in vacuum forming technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in vacuum forming manufacturing processes and engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software for mold design and development.
  • Solid understanding of plastics materials, thermoforming principles, and mold fabrication.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
  • Strong project management abilities, including prioritization, planning, and execution.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
