KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions. KVC is seeking a Supervisor for our Permanency Department The Supervisor of Permanency Services provides supervision and consultation to the case teams providing direct services to children and families in order to facilitate safety, permanency and well-being.

KVC’s clientele represent diverse backgrounds and KVC is seeking to enhance and expand our diversity in order to better serve our clients.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • To continue to build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable; family centered, connected to the community; and which relies on evidence-based practice necessary to support contract services in Kansas
  • Monitor the overall case management services for children and families
  • Ensure the implementation of program services and carry out the goals and objectives of the permanency department
  • Serve as a consultant for case management teams
  • Supervise employees, create individual work assignments, and evaluate job performance
  • Ensure that case plans are developed and individualized for clients and families
  • Review and critique reports
  • Monitor timelines and documentation
  • Train and monitor employees on policies and procedures and ensure that policies and procedures are followed
  • Serve as on-call contact for staff during emergency situations
  • Ensure that services are in compliance with all regulatory standards and contract terms and conditions
  • Coordinate appointments, discharges, disciplinary action and other personnel issues with the Human Resources Department
  • Understand contract requirements and work to improve contract specific outcomes
  • Maintain working relationships/communication with the Department for Children and Families (DCF), courts and other community partners
  • Assist employees in finding community resources for the families they serve
  • Ensure that all court orders are completed as directed by the court
  • Attend internal organizational meetings, as assigned
  • Oversee in-service training for staff and ensure the completion of required annual in-service hours and other required trainings
  • Understand contract requirements and work to improve contract specific outcomes
  • Maintain working relationships/communication with DCF, courts, and other community partners
  • Assist workers in finding community resources such as housing, utilities, and mental and physical health care
  • Ensure that all court orders are completed as directed by the court
  • Attend required trainings
  • All employees must be at least 21 years of age

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university in the field of social work or related field

Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Experience and Skills: At least two years of experience in child welfare

Preferred: Licensure by the KS BSRB
