Little Explorers Early Learning Academy
~ Making the world a better place, one child at a time ~
Our Goal Statement: The goal of Little Explorers is to help guide children as they develop into young individuals who are well-rounded, kind, independent thinkers who want to and are equipped to make the world a better place.
Our Purpose: To partner with families to create a secure, engaging, and enjoyable environment that promotes learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences in a warm, comforting environment that encourages children to celebrate who they are and take on new challenges.
Our Number One Priority: To keep all children in our care safe, happy and healthy
Who Are We? Our Core Values - The 5 Cs of LE
*Character*Commitment*Community*Connections*Continuous Improvement - Elevate & Celebrate*Qualifications:
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Be of good character and reputation
  • Be in sufficient physical, mental and emotional health to perform job duties satisfactorily
  • Possess skills, attributes, and characteristics conducive to and suitable for working with young children
  • 18 years of age or older with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain clearance through required background checks - Child Abuse Record Information background check and Criminal History Record Information background check - within two weeks of hire
  • CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Able to speak, read, and write fluently in English
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including the ability to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stand for a long time, work indoors and outdoors, and demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking, running, and lifting at least 40 pounds
  • MUST possess a genuine desire to give hugs, wipe boogers, comfort crying kiddos, dance around to silly songs, color & draw, have your hair done by a two year old, have pretend conversations on the phone into a block, eat pretend food like a champ, and create magical memories
  • A strong stomach for the yucky stuff... mostly boogers & smells And the ability to identify immediately who or what a smell is coming from is a MAJOR BONUS and will save lots of time and energy in the long run. (With this you will also develop a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions. No worries - this is totally normal)
  • The ability to not take yourself too seriously - in order to engage multitudes of toddlers at the same time, one must be willing to look ridiculous from time to time
  • Willingness to sing The Wheels on the Bus, Baby Shark, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, and whatever new catchy get-stuck-in-your-head-all-day Disney song is popular at the particular moment over and over and over again upon request (being on key is optional)*
  • Able to see and count a sea of moving heads instantaneously and locate anyone playing hide and seek by themselves (or with an imaginary friend).
  • Ability to read a story while one child crawls in your lap, another tries to grab the book, another one is telling you a completely different story, and yet another is styling your hair. (Multi-tasking is a must)
  • Ability to read in different accents, dialects, and character voices preferred but not required - but definite perk for your co-teacher, as it will keep the littles engaged long enough for him or her to get at least one thing checked off that to-do list*
  • Able to identify and remember the names of, not just your kids and other kids in the building, but also parents, grandparents, pets, blankies, coats, socks, hair bows, and any other item that has ever walked in your classroom
  • Competency in the areas of handling meltdowns and interpreting crying, pointing, and lots of emotional cues to figure out what happened, all while making sure the rest of the class is ok. (Again multi-tasking is a LIFESAVER)
  • Comfortable navigating on the floor, sitting on foot high chairs, crawling through a tunnel to save a scared child, and of course using tot sized toys
  • Happy to spend lots of time outdoors
  • Prepared to laugh, love, and learn more about children - and yourself - than you ever have before.

This is by far one of the most joyous and rewarding places to work, but you must be prepared to accept the challenges along with the benefits this job has to offer. Yes, you will have many days where you go home utterly exhausted, but you cant wait to go the next day and try that amazing Pinterest project you found about teaching the alphabet through superheroes, because of course superheroes are all the rage in your class.

Little Explorers is independently owned and operated and definitely a growing company, so with passion and drive the sky's the limit
