Seeking a IT Technician in Sparks, NV

Position: IT Technician
Pay: $26 - $28 per hour
Shift: Must be flexible
Weekend Rotation
On-call Rotation: Approximately once every 5-7 weeks

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team at a large-scale commercial facility. In this role, you will be responsible for low voltage cabling, installation of network devices, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance. You'll work with a variety of circuits and cutting-edge fiber technologies, all within a low-voltage environment.

Job Duties:

  • Install, terminate, maintain, and troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure (CAT 3/CAT 5/CAT 6 copper, fiber, coaxial) including patch panels and cable management systems.

  • Conduct physical installation of circuits and support structures such as cable trays, J-Hooks, and ladder racks.

  • Coordinate with customers (internal and external) to install and troubleshoot premise equipment like datacenter hardware, PDUs, computers, switches, routers, optics, and wireless access points.

  • Perform tasks including vendor escorts, hard drive and RAM installation/replacement, and use of remote terminal interfaces.

  • Create design layout records (D.L.R.) for installations within a web-based environment.

  • Execute standard cable testing procedures using company-provided testing equipment.

  • Interpret and resolve mission-critical alerts promptly.

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

  • Document all actions accurately using ticketing and project tracking systems.

  • Collaborate with customers professionally, troubleshoot issues, and follow escalation procedures as needed.

  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to shift scheduling for 24/7 operations.
