Black River Memorial Hospital is recruiting for a Per Diem Pharmacist. This position is non-benefited, day shift, working 12 hours per pay period. The desired candidate will have Cerner EHR, recent IV, and acute care experience.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes, including, but not limited to advising providers on issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs, and their side effects, as well as assisting in the dispensing of appropriate doses.
  • Individualizes medication regimes using sound principles, accounting for pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations in drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination with responsibility for establishing and continually improving the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Prepares and/or oversees the dispensing of prescription medications to patients and staff including the preparation of all IV admixtures prepared by certified technicians.
  • Oversees and is responsible for the acquisition, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals within the organization.
  • Processes prescriptions and oversees the pharmacy technician as part of daily pharmacy operations.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S) in a five-year pharmaceutical program from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Acute care residency desired or an equivalent experience in an acute care setting
  • Pharm D degree is desirable.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin or eligible before starting work
