Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for an experienced, highly motivated Human Resources Director who will lead and inspire the human resources team to provide exceptional customer service and care for a growing staff. This person will champion the areas of employee development, supervisor training, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and human resources administration. POSITION SUMMARY

Leads and develops a Human Resources function that serves the entire organization, equipping staff, and supervisors as employees of Eagle Brook Church. Provides strategic leadership for the Human Resources Team, empowering them to provide excellent service, support, and assistance to the Eagle Brook Church staff. Drives ongoing initiatives, programs, and processes while adhering to legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Reports to the Executive Director of Operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides strategic guidance to the Eagle Brook leadership team on HR initiatives and direction
  • Oversees performance management, supervisor training, recruitment and retention, employee relations, and HR Operations
  • Oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognitions, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Selects, develops, and supervises HR staff
  • Partners with Leadership team and department heads on talent development strategies
  • Provides strategic leadership for HRMS and the selection and administration of benefits programs including health, dental, wellness, 403(b), life, AD&D, and payroll processing
  • Coordinates the compensation philosophy and structure, and provides direction to the Leadership Team and supervisors on compensation matters
  • Selects and manages consultants, attorneys, and specialists, as well as coordinates use of health insurance brokers and carriers, administrators, and other outside resources
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to improve HR programs, practices, and procedures and keeps management informed of new developments
  • Recommends new initiatives and/or changes to existing policies, programs, practices
  • Provides guidance, feedback, consulting, mentoring, and coaching to the Leadership Team, functional leaders, and staff regarding organizational, team, and individual development, challenges, and changes
  • Develops and manages HR annual operating budget
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 8+ years) required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in a human resources department with at least 5 years in a management/supervisory role
  • SHRM Certification preferred
  • Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
  • Working knowledge of ministerial exception under Title VII preferred
  • Experience partnering and collaborating with leaders, managers, and teams
  • Refined conflict management skills
  • Experience or understanding of Eagle Brook Church culture or similar large church environment is preferred

WORK SCHEDULE

Primarily Monday - Friday at the Central Office located in Centerville, MN.

Classification: Exempt; Salary // Status: Full-Time // Team: Human Resources
