Lab Technician

- Clean, assemble, weld, and inspect cold components.
- Assemble radioactive components in fume hood.
- Transfer, weld, and inspect radioactive seeds.
- Wash and decontaminate radioactive seeds.
- Perform 100% inspection of finished seeds using magnifying equipment or microscope.
- Perform assay operation of radioactive seeds.
- Perform seed loading procedures (magazine, custom loaded needles, strands)
- Perform counting and shipping operations.
- Perform sterilization procedures (steam and/or gamma)
- Perform miscellaneous procedures (air filter, surveys, wastewater).
- Ensure accuracy of all paperwork.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Follow all company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Responsible for informing supervisor if corrections need to be made in production equipment or material.
- Other functions might be assigned based on company’s needs.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year Manufacturing/Assembly experience (preferred)
- Small Part Assembly (preferred)
- A high degree of accuracy is needed to perform all duties and paper work.
- Must display initiative to complete all assignments.
- Must be able to perform duties without direct and constant supervision.
- Must work toward continuous improvement.
- Responsible care and operation of equipment that will prevent damage or excessive wear.
- Ability to work overtime as workload dictates.
- A high level of confidentially must be maintained at all times with any Company information.
Some functions are performed in warehouse environment and some functions are performed in a radionuclide production environment with radioactive materials. The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Job requires minimal heavy lifting of up to 20 pounds. Fifty percent of functions are performed sitting with minimal lifting and Fifty percent of functions are performed stand with minimal reaching. Strong concentration along with frequent and constant mental and visual attention required.
