Job Type: Part-Time; 18-20 hours per week
About Us: Springfield First United Methodist Church is a vibrant and welcoming community dedicated to spiritual growth, worship, service, loving God and People. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Director to lead our traditional service and enhance our worship experience through exceptional music ministry.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead all music-related activities for traditional services (11am Sunday).
Direct the choir, ensuring high-quality performances and regular rehearsals.
Select hymns and liturgical music that align with the church calendar and themes.
Coordinate special music events, including holiday services and concerts.
Collaborate with the pastor and other church staff to integrate music into worship services seamlessly.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field.
Proven experience in conducting choirs and traditional church music.
Proficiency in playing the organ and piano.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
A deep understanding of and appreciation for liturgical music.
