As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical skills in a high-speed manufacturing setting that emphasizes safety. In this crucial position, you'll assist senior engineers in the toner department with tasks such as assessing, choosing, acquiring, installing, setting up, modifying designs, conducting tests, resolving issues, improving efficiency, and developing maintenance protocols for manufacturing machinery.

Responsibilities:

- Investigate, plan, prepare RFQs, install, and set up equipment following industrial standards for chemical manufacturing processes (fine powder or similar products).

- Propose equipment modifications to enhance production efficiency, manufacturing techniques, and product yields for existing products.

- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

- Design and either fabricate or coordinate external fabrication of new and replacement parts.

- Support Kaizen activities as a control engineer across all divisions of Toner manufacturing (Toner Process, Toner Filling, Assembly).

- Provide support to ensure the proper operation of compressors and air dryers.

- Troubleshoot various routine to moderately complex electrical and control system issues with manufacturing equipment.

- Support the maintenance of existing production lines concerning ECR-ECOs, product quality, process enhancements, and responsiveness to ergonomic and safety concerns.

- Investigate equipment failures/problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Develop and revise troubleshooting guides, startup procedures, equipment setup documents, and other protocols.

- Develop and update preventive maintenance plans based on manufacturing company equipment manuals.

- Prepare detailed root cause analysis reports and data presentations.

- Develop training materials to educate production and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

- Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.

- 2-4 years of experience in Controls/Electrical Engineering is required, with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience.

- Comprehensive grasp of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principles for developing and maintaining automated processes.

- Proficient in AutoCAD for creating technical plans, blueprints, electrical layouts, drawings, and models.

- Strong programming skills in robotics, with expertise in Fanuc and Epson robots preferred.

- Proficient in setting up and programming vision systems, with experience in Keyence systems beneficial.

- Practical knowledge of applying engineering science and technology to manufacture diverse products, with experience in chemical manufacturing processes or powder handling advantageous.

- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects independently and efficiently within strict deadlines, delivering cost-effective results.

- Strong analytical skills, adept at problem-solving, root cause analysis, research, and project management.

- Collaborative approach to working across diverse environments, adapting to various interpersonal styles and communication methods.

- Effective communication skills, including fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) and proficiency in presentations.
